Vanilla Pound Cake

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for greasing
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. salt


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F. Meanwhile, grease a 6-cup loaf pan with butter.

Step 2

In an electric mixer set on high speed, mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly add the eggs, and beat well. Add the vanilla extract, and salt.

Step 3

Then, lower speed to low. Add the flour gradually, until flour is just combined to the mixture. Pour over the loaf pan.

Step 4

Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean when pierced through the center of the cake. Once done, remove from oven, and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Place onto a wire rack, and finish cooling. Enjoy!
