Crispy Fried Chicken

  • 2 lb. bone-in chicken thighs, breasts (halved), and drumsticks, rinsed and dried
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying


Step 1

Fill a Dutch oven with vegetable oil until 2 to 3 inches deep. Using a kitchen thermometer, check the temperature of the oil until it reaches 350 F. Meanwhile, place a wire rack on top of a sheet pan.

Step 2

Season chicken parts with salt and pepper. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and 2 tbsps. of water.
