Apple Pie

  • Pastry for a 9-inch pie dish
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 8 cups of thinly sliced apples
  • For Crumb Crust:
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon


Step 1

Heat the oven to 450f. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the apples. Put the mixture into a pastry-lined pie plate.

Step 2

Mix sugar and flour for the crumb crust in a medium sized bowl. Cut the butter into small cubes, add the cinnamon. Put the crumbs on top of the pie and press it down.

Step 3

Bake the pie for 10 minutes, then lower the heat to 350f and bake for another 40 minutes. Enjoy!
